Project Based Learning
The furniture and technology in each Nolan Creek classroom is arranged to support a Project-Based Learning (“PBL”) environment. Each student (grades 5-8) brings their own laptop, electronic notebook, or other mobile learning device. Each classroom is arranged to support small group collaboration (4 - 6 students). Students in grades K-4 share class sets of iPads.
Project-Based Learning encourages an instructional approach built upon authentic learning activities that engage student interest and motivation. PBL is generally done by groups of students working together toward a common goal. PBL activities are designed to answer a question or solve a problem and generally reflect the types of learning and teamwork people use everyday.
